O’Sullivan won’t run for Shepparton community preselection
The Victorian Nationals have kicked off what is set to be an exciting year with continued interest from locals considering putting their hand up for The Nationals community preselection in the seat of Shepparton.
The Nationals community preselection for Shepparton launched late last year, with this process of selecting a candidate being a first for the state of Victoria.
The Nationals Member for Northern Victoria, Luke O’Sullivan has said there has been some interest behind the scenes.
“We’ve had some great people express interest so far and I’m certain those people will start to announce themselves as possibilities in the near future.”
Although there has been some speculation as to whether or not Mr O’Sullivan would be himself nominating for preselection in the seat of Shepparton, he has ruled this out as a possibility.
“I definitely won’t be nominating for preselection.
“I’m focused on representing the community as The Nationals Member for Northern Victoria” Mr O’Sullivan said.
“I would encourage anyone within the community who feels they have the skills and passion necessary for the job to consider nominating for The Nationals community preselection.”
“Anyone considering nominating for the community preselection would first need to join the party now to ensure they are eligible to nominate.
Nominations open on 12 February and close on 9 March. The community preselection will be held on 14 April.
